It only takes one good example to change the world.
Where some people see crisis, we see an opportunity to change the way we live, work and play in the 21st century.
Over the last decade Greece has been hit by a convergence of social, economic and environmental challenges. Many young, wealthy and well-educated Greeks have chosen to leave and build their lives elsewhere. A culture of apathy is emerging.
The island of Evia is a place of immense natural beauty; a paradise of mountains, beaches, fertile land and bio-diverse forests. It is only two hours by car from Athens and Athens International Airport. Given its accessible location and warm Mediterranean climate, it is surprisingly underdeveloped with an ageing population. For these reasons we believe that Evia can become a platform for change and innovation within Greece. It is the perfect location for demonstrating our model for economic and cultural regeneration.
Transform Evia seeks to catalyse the entrepreneurial spirit and creativity of the local Greek community, with the support of a global talent network.
Together, we can transform this beautiful and biodiverse land into a place for the world’s leading makers, scientists, designers, architects, engineers, entrepreneurs and artists to call their second home. Together, we can demonstrate that a new regenerative economy is possible.
“You never change things by fighting the existing reality. To change something, build a new model that makes the existing model obsolete.”
― R. Buckminster Fuller
